When I heard that Rihanna came out with her own beauty line, I was super ecstatic about it! Though it did take me a while to get some of her products, I knew I’d buy them any day now!
About a month ago, I bought her Pro Filt’r foundation and the mattemoiselle matte lipstick!
Pro Filt’r Foundation (shade 190)
It’s always tricky buying the right shade foundation when you can only buy it from online. Good thing that Sephora has the “Shade finder” option on their site, so when I inputted the details, I got the shade 190. I was a bit skeptical when I got 190 because on the page, it already looked quite fair compared to my skin tone but for some reason, I thought it’d work anyway.
The foundation claims to be long-wearing and has a soft matte finish, which from my experience of using it, is mostly true. It does have a nice soft matte finish and feels very lightweight on the skin, however, it is not as long-wearing. It’s still great and stays put for like a good 5-6 hours, but perhaps not your trusty old foundation that would stay all day. The coverage is medium and a second application might be needed if you need a full coverage.
So anyway, back to the shade, though it is a little fair for my skin tone, I find that it oxidizes pretty well into my skin and doesn’t look too unnatural. However, just to be safe, especially if I am wearing it at night, I mix it with my Nars foundation, which is a little darker for my skin tone (given by a friend). With this combination, I can make it work and I’ve been loving it! Also, overall, it is of great value for its price, you really get a good deal!
Mattemoiselle Matte Lipstick (Candy Venom)
When I saw this color on Fenty’s instagram page, I so wanted to get it! Lately, I’ve been loving this fuschia pinkish purple tones a lot! I’m so glad I got this because it is a really gorgeous color! I think this is the type of color that will suit almost anyone!
I love everything about this lipstick, the pigmentation of the color, the soft matte finish that doesn’t crack your lips and how you can easily touch up without worrying about caking it on your lips! Besides applying all over my lips, I sometimes like to dap a little to give my lips this lovely light pinkish color, which looks so nice too!
I love the sleek design and though it looks nice from afar, the material is a little plastic-y and the product itself is quite small and almost has no weight. I’m not sure if this is a good or a bad thing but for me, it’s just something about the lipstick that I don’t really mind. Even though I haven’t tried out all the lipstick shades, I would really recommend this color!
I realize that my pictures of the lipstick don’t do justice to the product and I can’t take nicer pictures of it anymore because my mum took it (she loves the color too), I’ve attached some pictures from the site to give you guys a closer look at the packaging if you haven’t already seen it!
Anyway, here are some pictures of me wearing the foundation and the lipstick on the day of my friend’s wedding!
Have you tried out Rihanna’s Fenty beauty yet? I’d love to hear your thoughts on her products and her beauty line!
