Spring Favs<3: Makeup Haul

Hey Lovelies!

The warmer weather is in and it’s floral season! I have been trying some new make-up products and I am loving each and every one of them! So, here I am sharing my thoughts & briefly reviewing them, thus, perhaps you would like to try them out too!

1. Etude House- Cleansing TissueI’ve been using this cleansing tissue since the first time I tried them! It’s been almost a year and I am always going back to repurchase this. Before this, I was using the Neutrogena Make-up remover that was so raved about by beauty bloggers. Though it was amazing, I was looking for a cheaper alternative since I was using them everyday. This etude house one was the perfect one! Reasonably priced for 50 wipes, no smell of chemical and it feels like water! It even takes off waterproof & stubborn make-up and after using it, my face always felt squeaky clean!

2. Etude House- My Beauty Tool

My Beauty Tool is a facial cleansing brush that helps deep-clean the face. Slightly wet the brush and swirl it over your face with your face cleanser. It works very well with foam facial cleansers and really helps to gently exfoliate too!

The brush is very soft and it’s so satisfying to the skin! Whenever I use this, my skin just feels rejuvenated & extra refresh! Give it a try for some more deep cleansing and fun when washing your face!

3. Etude House- Color My brows

I recently changed my hair color to a lighter brown, so I needed my eye-brows to match my hair. I picked this product to tint my eyebrows lighter brown and it does great at that! Because of it’s waxy, thick consistency, it helps to tame my brows in place as well!

4. Evian- Facial Spray

This facial spray was a random purchase, however, it is totally a necessity if you live in humid, hot or dry places. I used this on some drier winter days to give my face some moisture and in the humid days to refresh my skin! This spray is now with me wherever I go!

5. Etude House- Look at My eyes Eyeshadow (RD305) & Inglot Eye Makeup Base (01)

I have been seeing some beautiful coral reddish one shade eye shadow looks lately! I don’t have an eyeshadow of this color and so I was excited about testing this out! I had also heard good reviews on the Inglot eye primer and I had never tried any Inglot products, so it was a first for me from that brand and I have to say, I was impressed!

The color payoff of the eyeshadow was beautiful! Very pigmented, buttery & it gave such a beautiful sheen under the sunlight.

The eye primer has a creamy texture and it instantly dissolves into the skin when applying it. It has a neutral shade that does show any color, thus it’s a good primer for all skin tones!

It seems that I mostly reviewed Etude House products but I can’t help it if it’s one of the cosmetics stores closest to me! Opps!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading my short reviews of some of these beauty products I have newly discovered and loving for a while! I would love to hear your thoughts if you have used any of these products!

Until next time lovelies!

So far, so good.

Hey lovelies!
2016 is quickly becoming my year of experimenting. I feel like I’m doing things spontaneously, going with the flow vibe. It’s my last year finishing my undergrad and after that I would have to immerse in reality, work, career & just life in general.

So, I’m taking full advantage of this last year in undergrad school, experimenting different things & finding me, before I lose me in the real world.

For instance,    I dyed my hair oneday when I felt like I needed change. I wish I was brave enough to go full blonde tho, but the thought of bleaching my hair was just unbearable. Maybe someday, when my hair is healthier!

The other day,   I’ve heard so much about eye-lash extensions, which are fake eyelashes attached to your real eyelashes to give you semi-permanent, full looking lashes. I tried it out for myself as I have almost non-existent lashes.

Excuse my eyebrow, but my lashes look almost doll-like! I was hating them the first day and though it’s high maintenance, I’m growing to love them on me. I will write a post on my eyelash extension experience after they reach their life-span (which should be around 1 month if taken good care!).

I have also started going back to the gym and regaining my stamina. Working out has become my ultimate stress reliever! I’m also making small changes to my lifestyle & changing things on my plate bit by bit! 🙂

Another thing I am doing more often, I’ve been snapchatting daily just for the fun of it! Indeed it is so entertaining playing with the filters and making fun of myself …& my friends ofcourse! This is the social platform I’m currently most active in. Add me 👻@ roshpun if you wanna see my daily runabouts!

Lastly,      I’ve been appreciating my uni days so much more as I am quickly finishing up with my courses & school life! Boy, no matter how stressful deadlines made me feel, I’m gonna miss those days, laughing too much with my mates over project works!

Sorry for the pointless ramble but that’s all I’ve been up to. & so far, it’s been good. What about you guys?

Shopping Spree: Zalora Review!

Hey lovelies,

Hope everyone of you had delved into the holiday season and took time off to spend more time with friends and family.

Today, I want to share my Zalora shopping experience. It’s my second time shopping at Zalora, which is an online shopping website that caters to both women and men and sells a wide range of fashion brands, selling clothing, footwear and accessories (I’m sure most of us know Zalora already!). They sell trendy pieces and there are new items almost everyday, every minute! They also a lot sales going on and their prices start from very affordable to more depending on the brand. If you are looking for an additional discount code then use the code BAPQFCX  for 15% off your order!

One thing I love about Zalora is its shipping policies, they provide free shipping to Hong Kong and many other countries, including 30 day free return, which is the main reason I can confidently shop!

I bought 5 clothing pieces for less than HK$600, which is actually quite a bargain. I ordered them more than a week ago and as the website is such a fast-pace platform that is constantly updated, I cannot find urls or pictures for most of these items (they are probably sold out :().

  1. Oversize Contrast Jacket

I am all for furriness and coziness for the winter so when I saw this jacket, I instantly needed it. I also loved the white and suede brown contrast, however, I really wished it had side pockets that would make this even more perfect!

This is a picture of the jacket (size M) taken myself and it is almost identical to the one posted in their webpage, so I was very glad. The only thing was the color, it was more of a darker brown but I guess it is understandable because lighting really makes a difference. Overall, I was still very content with it. I loved it but I felt that it didn’t fit me as rightly as I wanted it. Though, the quality is amazing for its price range and is true to picture, I am thinking of returning it just cause it doesn’t quite suit me as I expected.

If you are interested in checking it out, just click here.

2. Draped Mini Dress

This mini dress (size M) was the piece I was most excited for! It has a simple plain back but the front is draped with a cross slit in the front. I really loved it but the only problem was with the length. As you can see in the picture, it can hardly be worn as a mini dress and I am an average 5’5. I really adore the modest necklace and draped design of this dress, which gives you a slimming effect. As much as I love it, I really wish it was a bit longer so I could wear it as a dress.

I’m thinking about getting a Large size, hoping that it would be a bit longer, but I really doubt it. :S It also seems like it has been sold out in the website as I can’t find its link.

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Though in the website, it looked fine on the model, on me, it is hardly wearable as a dress. The quality is great but still a bit disappointed cause of its length. I will definitely be returning this piece.

3. Love Metallic Top Dress

This is another simple cocktail dress that I ordered without much expectation, however, I was very happy with it! The top is a sheen metallic light-weight fabric and the bottom skirt is made of a thicker material that hugs the lower body just right and has a silky finish to it. Very comfortable and stretchy material!

Here’s a close-up I took and as you can see, there are tiny speckles of metallics on the top. Though this was a size M, it was slightly bigger on me, however, I feel like I can still work with it and will be keeping it!

Click here if you want to see more of it!

4. Tyra Loose Fit Sweater

This was my favourite purchase of everything I got! I absolutely love the softness of this sweater and the fur do not shed or easily fall off as well! Keeps you very warm and cozy! I got this in the size M and it is one of those oversized ones, where it is slightly bigger but I love it that way! I also love how it is short in the front and longer at the back that covers your bum just right, making it perfect to pair with high-waisted jeans. Trust me I have been wearing this non-stop since I got it!

It seems that this cozy steal is also not in stock anymore because I cannot find the link for this. 😦

5. Midi- Turtle Neck knit dress

I was looking for a nice turtle neck sweater but I couldn’t find what I was looking for but I saw this and I thought, I can multi-wear it as a sweater or as a sweater dress. It is a one-size fit all and I think it can fit a lot of sizes as the material is quite stretchy. It also hugs your whole body tightly so your curves are emphasized. However, it is a bit transparent so you have to wear something inside.

Personally, I cannot wear this alone and I have to pair it with a jacket of another color or a scarf, just to bring in some color. I love it nonetheless and will definitely be keeping it as a winter wardrobe essential!

Check it out here!

Overall, I love Zalora without a doubt because of its very convenient and easy way of shopping! My order took literally less than a week to arrive! I am completely sold on the price range, delivery services and even payment services as it is one of the few online shops that offer cash-on-delivery, so even if you do not have a credit card or do not want to use it, they offer this amazing low-risk cash-on-delivery service, where you pay when the items are delivered to you! It is always such a great experience shopping in Zalora and if you are based in Hong Kong, I really recommend them if you want to online shop. Totally no risk, easy, fast & great variety!

What were your favourite pieces? Have ever shopped at Zalora? I would love to hear your shopping experience in Zalora!

~I do not own all the photos, some were taken off the website. I was in no way sponsored by this company.~

Lip kit by Kylie: Thoughts

Hey lovelies!

I heard that the new lip kit by Kylie was a sold out within an hour or so! Not that I witnessed it because I had no idea she was out with her lip range, but as many of us may have already seen or heard about the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, which was somehow notorious, you might be interested. The lip kit actually, (I can’t believe I’m saying this to someone I don’t really want to say much about), but it looks quite nice.

She has come out with 3 neutral, nude shades: Candy K, Dolce K & True Brown. (Pictures retrieved from the official website)

Candy K & Dolce K looks very similar indeed but in the swatches they vary in deepness of the color. Candy K is a lighter nude and Dolce K is a bit darker. True brown is simply a lavish chocolate brown, very true to its name. I really wanna try Candy K!!!

lip-kit-by-kylie-01

Each kit comes with the liquid lipstick that finishes matte & its lip liner, retailing for $29 USD. I guess it’s pretty reasonable considering it is marketed as higher brand and you actually get 2 products in the set. I love the packaging! It’s pretty unique!

Lip_Kit_By_Kylie_Hauterfly

As stated in its website, the formula for these lipsticks are liquid when applied and then dries down to a powdery soft matte finish. I’m guessing it may be very similar to the NYX Soft matte lipsticks but perhaps more long-lasting so that it’s worth it in its retail value.

It seems that Kylie worked on it for a while and I’m glad to see her do something with her fame. I’m sure there are so many dupes and what not that has already been in the market but even if it is selling off of her name, at least she is doing something for her own namesake!

What are your thoughts on the new Lip Kit by Kylie? Did you get a chance to try them or would you try them out?

Would love to hear ya’all lovelies thoughts on it.

Top 5: Everyday Lipsticks (Swatches)

Hello loves!

I know I always start with saying “it’s been a while”, but this whole month of November, I have been literally MIA from my blog. I can’t believe November is almost over and I did not even write 1 post, though I have been reading a couple of yours and checking other blogs in my spare time.

Anyway, for an update, it has finally began to be cooler in Hong Kong in the past couple of days ( for some reason, we had a very late start to Winter this year!) and I can officially say it’s Winter here! Besides that, I am finally getting a hang of my life as a secondary teacher. I feel like I spend my whole day at the school and because of that I have grown to love it and see it as a part of my daily life. Now that I think about it, it might be a tad bit hard to leave my students after my practice phase :(.

Ok, enough with the long intro! Today I’ll be sharing my top 5 everyday lipsticks that I wear literally everyday, of course rotating each at a time but not all at once! LOL! I wear these lipsticks at school as a teacher too and it makes my teacherly-look a little less dull! Just a natural flush to the lips!

IMG_8329

From left, I have the NYX matte lipstick in “Euro trash”, LA Girl in “Snuggle”, NYX soft mattes in “Cannes” & “Stockholm” and lastly, the Milani lipstick in “Naturally Chic” (I love the name of this!)

IMG_8335

As you can see, they are in the same color family! They all are a mauvy-pinkish- nude! I guess I am just naturally drawn into this color family! I think this is the lipstick shade anyone with any skin tone can rock and still look very beautiful & natural on them! These are also more safe/ comfort-zone sort of shades that you can confidently wear!

IMG_8345

Here are the beautiful swatches under natural light. Some are more mauvy or pinky and even peachy! I really can’t pick my favourite but if I really had to I would say “Stockholm”, just because the peachy-ness gives me such a fresh look when wearing at daytime.

For everyday use, I prefer and would recommend tube lipsticks or creamy ones rather than liquid lipsticks as they are more moisturising and forgiving when it comes to precision application. The NYX soft mattes are however, exceptional! They look like they could be in liquid forms but actually they are of creamy-consistency and applies like a dream (very soft as stated!). They have become one of my all-time favourite lipstick formulas!

IMG_8341

So, if you are looking for everyday lipsticks and are totally into these kind of shades, you should definitely try one of these!

What are your top 5 everyday lipsticks or your everyday lipstick in general? I would love to know them and see how similar or different we are! 😀

Beach Essentials <3

Now that Summer is officially here and will be staying in for a good month or so, hitting the beach is a must to enjoy what Summer has to offer! The warm sunny days at the beach, the hot wind blowing your hair, the sound of the waves crashing and the smell of the ocean can be a very therapeutic experience!

Today, I’ll be sharing my beauty beach essentials that is a must!

What I really want to share is this amazing foundation by Estee Lauder. For those who want to look extra flawless even at the beach, though completely make-up free is not a problem, this is the go-to foundation, not just for the beach but for any warm/hot days!

It has SPF 10 that is suitable for the day time and like it says, it literally stays on place without smudging. I was sweating non-stop and when using a face wipe (dry), there were no stains at all of the foundation! I can’t believe it stayed in place despite the sweat! The formula is oil-free, so it is very suitable for people with oily skin. This is a pro-long foundation that also claims to stay 15 hours and it is almost true because it stayed on all day for me!

I am so glad I chose to try out this foundation on my beach day since it was a new purchase and now it has become my trusty-old foundation that I know will not fail me. If you have tried this foundation, how did it work for you?

A big floppy hat is always good to have at the beach as it provides shade for you and keeps your head cool. Also, it’s just fun to wear it at the beach!

As you can tell now, I was trying to color-coordinate my bikini and hat! It was just a lot of fun shopping and planning for the beach day with my girlfriends!

Like a boss.

By the way, that pineapple (out of nowhere) was totally chilling like a boss!

Exploring Home finally…

For the last 2 years, I feel like I have been away for the Summer, which is true; getting myself involved in an exchange programme the first summer and being away for immersion last summer in Australia. For a long time, I haven’t been home (Hong Kong), while most people prefer to be somewhere else taking a tropical vacation, I was actually pretty excited to finally be home and what better time to explore the place than summer time!

Last Friday, me and my bestie took a casual trip to Sai Kung, which is almost 2 hours away from where I live by train. We had to take an additional 10 minute minibus ride since it was quite remote. Well, just like any other trip, the commuting is worth it when you finally reach the destination!

Here’s one of the first shots we took.

You can tell already that it was a very chill & relaxed place. There’s just something so calm about the water that instantly makes everything just flow.

If you are in Hong Kong, this place is called Sai Kung waterfront park. It is basically a long promenade overlooking the sea.

You could hop on different cruises that would take you to some hidden beaches and other activities like snorkelling and boating. For us, these had to wait for another day!

We decided to just stroll around the local town, which was in fact more like a neighbourhood. A very friendly one indeed!

By the way, if you love seafood, I think this would be a mini food heaven for you!

So first things first, we were starving after that long journey and what better way than to have a meaty burger to devour the hunger!

We went to this really cute restaurant/ cafe called “Jam” (btw, there were many unique little cafes that were so homely that you wouldn’t find at city centers with a really good eye for design & archecture that let off very bohemian & retro vibes!)

The lemonade was the perfect choice to refresh and it was sooo good! The milkshake I ordered was quite unique, it was “Apple & Cinnamon” flavored and it was quite a twist to regular milkshakes that I really enjoyed!

The food was very good and it literally took “Jam” into all of their dishes! Can you believe I had my fries with Jam? I asked for Ketchup but they didn’t have it! I think the patty was somehow seasoned with some Jam juice because it was very juicy with an interesting slight sweetness!

The chicken salad was excellent though! I really enjoyed the balance of sweetness & sour!

After lunch, we had a quick stroll and shopped at this vintage shop called “Vintage” (very original isn’t it!) It really was a true vintage shop where you could find almost anything and being a 90s kid, I was pretty excited to see some familiar things!

Just opposite to the vintage shop was this retro-looking cafe called “Five Coffee Company” and they served original coffees! Not the ones you find at starbucks but authentic coffee beans that you could smell from afar! They had other choices of drinks too, such as beers & juices and light snacks!

We went for an iced latte to beat the heat and it was the perfect atmosphere to ponder upon life and silly things!

Here’s my friend posing for a shot (though we really did discussed stuff & took some notes!) haha 😆

After a coffee break we decided to walk till the end of the promenade. The wind was blowing and there were many four-legged friends walking along too!

Seeing a lot of people on the water, literally walking as the water was quite shallow, we decided to try as well!

It was an amazing experience literally walking on water. It took us a while to reach the sand area in the middle of the sea.

Finally reached it! This was actually in the middle of the shallow sea. Then we made our way across to the beach side!

Made it to the mini beach!

You can still see people so far away in the water! That was how shallow the sea was!

Of course us, being girls, we had to take our routine selfies and pout lips are always a must! 😂

Here’s a little outfit of the day I tried to take with the colourful kayaks!

I felt that my outfit was very coachella inspired! A very unintentional though! All that mattered was that it was comfy and very appropriate for the weather!

Oh by the way, we saw cows as well just chilling like any other day munching the grass!

And of course, I had to take this mandatory follow-me- around picture to complete my little adventure!

How is your summer so far? Hope you too are enjoying exploring new or even old places!
Xoxo,

Oddinary Girl

Do it for you :)

Hey Everyone? How are you enjoying June so far? As for me, I am caught up in work as I am working full-time for the Summer and it feels like I haven’t even been able to just relax in my own corner at home.

After quite a hectic week, I finally took the evening to simply relax in my own comfortable place; my bedroom. Sometimes, there are times when we feel so drenched from our daily routine, making us monotonous and bored about our own lives, so, it’s always good to take some time to do you, to be you and to rejuvenate you. This was one of those nights for me.

A hot bath is always a greater option but when you don’t have a bathtub, a soothing shower will do. One of the calmest place for me is the beach and I love the feel and sound of the waves, so today, I used the Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub from Lush to make my shower a bit more interesting! This was my first time using it and I love it so much already! The scrub is actually so smooth on the skin and melts as you rub it on. It extracts dead skin and keeps skin moisturized. The best part about it is that it smells exactly like the ocean or the beach, like you have just taken a dip in the water!

IMG_2971

Of course I had to burn my new favorite candle, Coconut Leaves, from the body shop. I have always been a coconut fan! I feel like there are two kinds of people, the first kind who cannot stand the scent of coconut (like my bestie) and the latter who are in love with the scent. I am one of those people that fits in the latter category!

IMG_2968

Well, I had to show my skin some love as well! So I had on this amazing face mask by a Korean brand, Beauty Friends. Korean brands usually produce one of the best masks in the market, so I wasn’t surprised when this mask left my skin feeling extra bright, smooth and soft! There is also something so soothing about aloe vera and I usually go for these green-packaged masks! My skin finally feels like it is breathing again!

IMG_2969

I do not usually drink hot tea or any sort of herbal drinks before bed, but sometimes I do like to drink something warm for my soul. This is a type of green-tea that is supposed to help with digestion and to detoxify the body. I always feel so much lighter after drinking this tea and it’s just nice to have something to sip on while you relax.

IMG_2983

So, there goes my alone-time, an evening well-spent relaxing, chilling and hearing my own thoughts in my comfiest place. Lastly, here’s a little message from the little corner of my wall to you, “Cherish every memory, Love every moment and Embrace every possibility.” I guess that’s what life is all about, to cherish, love and embrace and from my own experience, just to do it for you!  IMG_2978

A sort-of Gladiators

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a good month so far cuz do I have to mention that we are approaching its final days! Maybe it’s just me, but I get so emotional in a sort of weird way when it comes to the final few days of the month because I can’t seem to figure out where my days went!

So to keep one of my 2015 resolutions alive, I have decided to share a little outfit of the day (ootd) during my weekend in Macau, featuring my new gladiator sandals!

Nothing interesting when it comes to black, but I love how this all black outfit makes the gladiator sandals pop out a bit more! I have been seeing so many amazing gladitors everywhere and especially that are knee- high length and I am totally loving them!

The ones that I’m rocking are a little above the ankle length and they give pretty much a similar look compared to the knee-high length. A little less intimidating for those that prefer subtle and easier to style in my opinion! It’s also alot practical to just slide it on and if you have to be going in and out, then probably these ankle-length is more suitable!

(Pictures of knee-high length gladiator sandals retrieved from pinterest)

The knee-high length however, is the total bomb! I am loving how Vanessa Hudgens has styled them, so effortless and casual! I’m sure these knee-high lengths will make any outfit standout of the crowd!

So, here’s my take on the more modest length gladiator that I picked up from Forever 21! It’s sort-of there… But maybe I’ll gather my confidence to wear the real-deal (knee-high length) once I get more wear out of these that I currently own!

Which one would you totally rock? Ankle-length, knee-high length? Let me know your thoughts!

Before us

Sometimes all we want to do is get away, away from where we are, to somewhere foreign, so we always look far ahead, but maybe… sometimes we need not see what’s on the otherside… But maybe what’s in before us.

Maybe sometimes we just forget to look ahead and maybe forget the beauty that we once fled away to. I guess sometimes we just forget to admire the beauty that’s right before our eyes 💛
