Spring Favs<3: Makeup Haul

Hey Lovelies!

The warmer weather is in and it’s floral season! I have been trying some new make-up products and I am loving each and every one of them! So, here I am sharing my thoughts & briefly reviewing them, thus, perhaps you would like to try them out too!

1. Etude House- Cleansing TissueI’ve been using this cleansing tissue since the first time I tried them! It’s been almost a year and I am always going back to repurchase this. Before this, I was using the Neutrogena Make-up remover that was so raved about by beauty bloggers. Though it was amazing, I was looking for a cheaper alternative since I was using them everyday. This etude house one was the perfect one! Reasonably priced for 50 wipes, no smell of chemical and it feels like water! It even takes off waterproof & stubborn make-up and after using it, my face always felt squeaky clean!

2. Etude House- My Beauty Tool

My Beauty Tool is a facial cleansing brush that helps deep-clean the face. Slightly wet the brush and swirl it over your face with your face cleanser. It works very well with foam facial cleansers and really helps to gently exfoliate too!

The brush is very soft and it’s so satisfying to the skin! Whenever I use this, my skin just feels rejuvenated & extra refresh! Give it a try for some more deep cleansing and fun when washing your face!

3. Etude House- Color My brows

I recently changed my hair color to a lighter brown, so I needed my eye-brows to match my hair. I picked this product to tint my eyebrows lighter brown and it does great at that! Because of it’s waxy, thick consistency, it helps to tame my brows in place as well!

4. Evian- Facial Spray

This facial spray was a random purchase, however, it is totally a necessity if you live in humid, hot or dry places. I used this on some drier winter days to give my face some moisture and in the humid days to refresh my skin! This spray is now with me wherever I go!

5. Etude House- Look at My eyes Eyeshadow (RD305) & Inglot Eye Makeup Base (01)

I have been seeing some beautiful coral reddish one shade eye shadow looks lately! I don’t have an eyeshadow of this color and so I was excited about testing this out! I had also heard good reviews on the Inglot eye primer and I had never tried any Inglot products, so it was a first for me from that brand and I have to say, I was impressed!

The color payoff of the eyeshadow was beautiful! Very pigmented, buttery & it gave such a beautiful sheen under the sunlight.

The eye primer has a creamy texture and it instantly dissolves into the skin when applying it. It has a neutral shade that does show any color, thus it’s a good primer for all skin tones!

It seems that I mostly reviewed Etude House products but I can’t help it if it’s one of the cosmetics stores closest to me! Opps!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed reading my short reviews of some of these beauty products I have newly discovered and loving for a while! I would love to hear your thoughts if you have used any of these products!

Until next time lovelies!

Lip kit by Kylie: Thoughts

Lip kit by Kylie: Thoughts

Hey lovelies!

I heard that the new lip kit by Kylie was a sold out within an hour or so! Not that I witnessed it because I had no idea she was out with her lip range, but as many of us may have already seen or heard about the Kylie Jenner lip challenge, which was somehow notorious, you might be interested. The lip kit actually, (I can’t believe I’m saying this to someone I don’t really want to say much about), but it looks quite nice.

She has come out with 3 neutral, nude shades: Candy K, Dolce K & True Brown. (Pictures retrieved from the official website)

Candy K & Dolce K looks very similar indeed but in the swatches they vary in deepness of the color. Candy K is a lighter nude and Dolce K is a bit darker. True brown is simply a lavish chocolate brown, very true to its name. I really wanna try Candy K!!!

Each kit comes with the liquid lipstick that finishes matte & its lip liner, retailing for $29 USD. I guess it’s pretty reasonable considering it is marketed as higher brand and you actually get 2 products in the set. I love the packaging! It’s pretty unique!

As stated in its website, the formula for these lipsticks are liquid when applied and then dries down to a powdery soft matte finish. I’m guessing it may be very similar to the NYX Soft matte lipsticks but perhaps more long-lasting so that it’s worth it in its retail value.

It seems that Kylie worked on it for a while and I’m glad to see her do something with her fame. I’m sure there are so many dupes and what not that has already been in the market but even if it is selling off of her name, at least she is doing something for her own namesake!

What are your thoughts on the new Lip Kit by Kylie? Did you get a chance to try them or would you try them out?

Would love to hear ya’all lovelies thoughts on it.

Top 5: Everyday Lipsticks (Swatches)

Top 5: Everyday Lipsticks (Swatches)

Hello loves!

I know I always start with saying “it’s been a while”, but this whole month of November, I have been literally MIA from my blog. I can’t believe November is almost over and I did not even write 1 post, though I have been reading a couple of yours and checking other blogs in my spare time.

Anyway, for an update, it has finally began to be cooler in Hong Kong in the past couple of days ( for some reason, we had a very late start to Winter this year!) and I can officially say it’s Winter here! Besides that, I am finally getting a hang of my life as a secondary teacher. I feel like I spend my whole day at the school and because of that I have grown to love it and see it as a part of my daily life. Now that I think about it, it might be a tad bit hard to leave my students after my practice phase :(.

Ok, enough with the long intro! Today I’ll be sharing my top 5 everyday lipsticks that I wear literally everyday, of course rotating each at a time but not all at once! LOL! I wear these lipsticks at school as a teacher too and it makes my teacherly-look a little less dull! Just a natural flush to the lips!

From left, I have the NYX matte lipstick in “Euro trash”, LA Girl in “Snuggle”, NYX soft mattes in “Cannes” & “Stockholm” and lastly, the Milani lipstick in “Naturally Chic” (I love the name of this!)

As you can see, they are in the same color family! They all are a mauvy-pinkish- nude! I guess I am just naturally drawn into this color family! I think this is the lipstick shade anyone with any skin tone can rock and still look very beautiful & natural on them! These are also more safe/ comfort-zone sort of shades that you can confidently wear!

Here are the beautiful swatches under natural light. Some are more mauvy or pinky and even peachy! I really can’t pick my favourite but if I really had to I would say “Stockholm”, just because the peachy-ness gives me such a fresh look when wearing at daytime.

For everyday use, I prefer and would recommend tube lipsticks or creamy ones rather than liquid lipsticks as they are more moisturising and forgiving when it comes to precision application. The NYX soft mattes are however, exceptional! They look like they could be in liquid forms but actually they are of creamy-consistency and applies like a dream (very soft as stated!). They have become one of my all-time favourite lipstick formulas!

So, if you are looking for everyday lipsticks and are totally into these kind of shades, you should definitely try one of these!

What are your top 5 everyday lipsticks or your everyday lipstick in general? I would love to know them and see how similar or different we are! 😀

Sleek: Face Contour Kit Review

Sleek: Face Contour Kit Review

Hey lovelies!

I hope you’ve been well & great! It’s been a while (I know..) but I am back with another beauty-related review! This is the first product I’ve tried from Sleek and I don’t know why it hasn’t been raved enough in the beauty world!

Recently, I have been so into contouring and highlighting using my LA Girl Pro concealers and I thought I should try out some powder contouring & highlighting formulas. The Face Contour kit by Sleek is just perfect for that! It has one contour shade and one highlight. I got the one in light as I wanted it to be natural on my skin tone.

As you can see above, even the packaging is very sleek! It’s a nice pocket size so it fits in a clutch perfectly! It is a pressed powder formula and its contour stays on matte.

The contouring shade creates very natural shadows on my face and I love using it under my cheek-bones to sculpt my cheeks. The color tone is almost similar to the Hoola Bronzer by benefit and has a warm undertone. It applies on lightly which is good because it allows you to build up the intensity (the thing I love about it)! The highlight color is one of my favourite! It’s almost like a very light salmon color (not too pink though) and has a satin sheen to it rather than being all glittery. It does contain glitter but I love how tiny and almost insignificant they are, creating such a flattering shine above the apples of my cheek.

I love everything about this contour kit by Sleek! It’s small, portable and handy for the girls on the go! I don’t even contour that often but with this contour kit, I’ve been using it daily, adding a bit of definition to my face!

And of course… I have to use it with my favourite Zoeva angled brush. They are a perfect match!

What is your favourite contour kit? If you are the type of girl that likes easy and on-the-go type of contouring kit then you should definitely check this one out!

Hope you enjoyed reading my mini review. Would love to hear your thoughts on it! 🙂

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Brush Review

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Brush Review

Hello everyone!

How’s everyone’s week going so far? We’re in the middle of the week… and I can’t help but count down the days till weekend! Anyway, today I wanted to share my love for these Rose Golden Luxury set by Zoeva that I got two months ago. Zoeva is a German cosmetic brand that hasn’t been around for too long, however, I do believe that it is quickly becoming well-known in the beauty & cosmetic industry. Watching a review on Youtube on one of their brush sets a few years back, I’ve been drooling over their brushes! I just love how elegant and chic they look and when I saw this rose golden set, I just had to try it out for myself!

The whole packaging was very secure, nicely bundled up in bubble-wraps. It also came with a note with the person’s name that packed it, adding a lovely personal touch to it! Also, all brush sets come with its own clutch, usually color co-ordinating with the brushes, so of course, for this rose golden set, it was a lovely deep brown with gold detailing, very luxury-looking indeed!

There’s just something about rose gold that makes anything instantly expensive & elegant! I also love how the hair on some of brushes are white and how the brushes have their names (according to its function) labelled on. The Rose Golden Luxury set comes with 8 brushes, 4 that are ideally for face and the other 4 for eyes. I think it is a very good starter brush set if you do not own any brushes yet! The quality is also just as amazing as its appearance.

As shown in the picture above, for face brushes, you have a silk finish brush (ideal for foundation, contour & any liquid makeup), powder brush, a face shape brush (great for precise contouring, sculpting, concealer, etc) and a luxe sheer cheek brush (basically an angled brush that is great for contouring, highlighting & blush). My favourite is the luxe sheer cheek brush! It is super soft and nicely angled that applies bronzer, contour & blushes very nicely.

For the smaller brushes, you get a concealer buffer brush (for blending in concealer), a luxe soft definer brush (to pack on eyeshadow & blend), a petite crease brush (for blending at the crease area) and a wing liner brush. I have been loving the petite crease brush because it works so perfectly for my smaller asian eyes!

I am very impressed with the quality of these brushes, considering its price, which is 65euros, I think you truly get what you pay for! Super soft, sturdy handles & hasn’t shed yet! You also get a cute clutch with it! I would totally recommend this gorgeous brush set (or any Zoeva brush sets) if you are looking to splurge a little on some high quality, beautiful brushes!

L.A. Girl Pro Conceal Review (How-to Contour & Highlight)

L.A. Girl Pro Conceal Review (How-to Contour & Highlight)

Hey everyone!

I’m back with a beauty review and totally excited for this one! I am reviewing the L.A. Girl Pro conceal that I have been using for the past few months for night-outs, dinners & parties. These are actually concealers/ correctors for concealing any flaws for a more even complexion, however, it is more popularly used as highlight and contour, which I personally use it for as well. As you can see below, there is a wide color range, so I am sure everyone can find their shade!

la girl

For myself, I use creamy beige as highlight and beautiful bronze as contour. I also own toast and I have to say, it is almost identical to beautiful bronze.

Creamy beige, Beautiful bronze & Toast.

Beautiful bronze & toast are ideal for contouring and goes with many different skin shades, especially fair to medium asian skin tones. The key is not the color but the blending process! Just have to blend, blend, blend until it looks natural!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset               Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

The concealers come with a brush type of applicator and you have to squeeze the tube lightly for the product. A little squeeze will do the job, if not you will just be wasting the product because it just comes in huge chunks. For my contour & highlight, I will be using creamy beige and beautiful bronze.

Here’s a “before” picture without highlighting and contouring but with some basic make-up on.

Starting the contouring & highlighting process!

I believe my face shape is a mixture of oval & diamond. I have quite high cheek bones though they are not so defined. Here is a face shape chart if you are not sure which shape you are or where to put the highlight & contour. 🙂

To be honest, I am not an expert and it is only recently I have been contouring and highlighting for fun. The way I do it, is to simply follow my natural lines, such as the line under my cheek bones, the sides of my nose and under my chin area. For the highlighting, I put them right above and under the contouring of my cheeks so that it comes off natural (without any harsh lines) when I blend them. A little on the bridge of my nose ( a straight line that goes beyond to your forehead) so that my nose pops out a little more! Just a dot on my cupid’s bow and on my chin & VOILA! Now, the key is to blend!

I use a beauty blender to blend the contour first and then I blend the highlight with another sponge so that the dark and light colors do not mix. For my nose, I actually use the real technique deluxe crease brush as it is dense and perfect for my small nose! The brush does an excellent job blending in the harsh lines on the sides of my nose and I would recommend doing this if you have a smaller nose. After everything is blended in well, I go back with the beauty blender to lightly blend everything together once more. Now time for the result…!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

This is the “after” picture and you can tell that my face looks more defined and sculpted!

Overall the L.A. Pro conceal works very well for contouring and highlighting! It is creamy and of quite a thick consistency, so it blends in very well. The darker shades, like beautiful bronzer is also universal and goes with so many different skin colors. It claims to be high-definition and I do agree as it conceals blemishes and dark circles quite flawlessly if used as a concealer. It does not feel sticky or too drying and tends to stay for long hours. Best part of all is that it is very affordable!

I hope you enjoyed reading this review as much as I loved doing it! Would love to hear your thoughts on them if you have tried it or if you would be interested in trying them!

Beach Essentials <3

Beach Essentials <3

Now that Summer is officially here and will be staying in for a good month or so, hitting the beach is a must to enjoy what Summer has to offer! The warm sunny days at the beach, the hot wind blowing your hair, the sound of the waves crashing and the smell of the ocean can be a very therapeutic experience!

Today, I’ll be sharing my beauty beach essentials that is a must!

Beach essentials ❤

What I really want to share is this amazing foundation by Estee Lauder. For those who want to look extra flawless even at the beach, though completely make-up free is not a problem, this is the go-to foundation, not just for the beach but for any warm/hot days!

It has SPF 10 that is suitable for the day time and like it says, it literally stays on place without smudging. I was sweating non-stop and when using a face wipe (dry), there were no stains at all of the foundation! I can’t believe it stayed in place despite the sweat! The formula is oil-free, so it is very suitable for people with oily skin. This is a pro-long foundation that also claims to stay 15 hours and it is almost true because it stayed on all day for me!

I am so glad I chose to try out this foundation on my beach day since it was a new purchase and now it has become my trusty-old foundation that I know will not fail me. If you have tried this foundation, how did it work for you?

A big floppy hat is always good to have at the beach as it provides shade for you and keeps your head cool. Also, it’s just fun to wear it at the beach!

As you can tell now, I was trying to color-coordinate my bikini and hat! It was just a lot of fun shopping and planning for the beach day with my girlfriends!

Like a boss.

By the way, that pineapple (out of nowhere) was totally chilling like a boss!
